THE LOTTE LEHMANN SUMMER ACADEMY 2012
The LOTTE LEHMANN ACADEMY is an intimate and intensive summer program for emerging opera singers preparing for what happens when things get real after a successful audition. The Academy welcomes singers from all continents and helps them develop the resources to establish themselves in the operatic profession in Europe and the German repertoire system.
The summer session of 2011 will take place from 6 to 28 July in Perleberg, the birthplace of the great soprano Lotte Lehmann.
Singers can choose between attending the full three week program or modules of one or two weeks.
The intimate design of the LOTTE LEHMANN ACADEMY guarantees each participant an exceptionally intensive working experience as well as maximum attention and guidance from its world-class faculty members.
Weekly aspects of the program include public Masterclasses with renowned teachers and coaches, daily singing lessons and coachings, as well as classes in bodywork and stagecraft. Special features of the program include audition training and studio classes with colleagues and faculty, and a seminar or roundtable with directors, opera managers and other opera professionals. Classes will be taught in English and German.
Daily German classes in small groups and geared to individual proficiency are mandatory for all non-German speaking participants.
Participants will have weekly performance opportunities in historical venues of Lehmann's hometown and in the manors and parks of neighboring towns in the Prignitz region and the State of Brandenburg.
